Radio Samantha: Your alternated station 02-09-2007
The US organisation RIAA wants more money from internet radio stations.
Also there is more regulation stuff involved. Stations need to list every track played per moment. For smaller non comercial stations, this is not possible.
Live 365 has announced that all stations operating with their organisation have to follow these regulations.
For this reason Radio Samantha will close down today.
The RIAA obviously does not understand the consequenses of this.
Smaller non commercial stations play lots of un signed or starting artists, who dont get airplay on commercial stations. They get nothing now in any way, not even airplay. Will Celine Dion or Phil Collins really care for that extra Euro or dollar each month? I think not.
With this action nobody is going to gain anything.
