Op 2 december 2006 overleed Mariska Veres. Vanavond herdenken we Mariska en de muziek van Shocking Blue in de Afwisseling. Met deze band bereikte ze als enige hollandse zangeres de nummer 1 in de Billboard hot 100.
Venus was toen de best verkochte plaat in de USA.

On December the 2 nd 2006 Mariska Veres passed away. Tonight we will remember Mariska and the music of Shocking Blue in the Alternation. With this band she reached as only Dutch female singer the Nr 1 position in the Billboard hot 100. Venus became the best sold Dutch record on that moment in the USA.
